The National Retail Federation has a first-class government relations department dedicated to defending and pursuing the retail industry’s public policy priorities and interests. But you don’t have to take my word for it. Recently, two of NRF’s government relations staff were named tops in their industry.

For the second consecutive year, The Hill newspaper named Senior Vice President of Government Relations David French one of its top lobbyists. The newspaper – well regarded and respected inside the Beltway with government and public policy stakeholders – cited NRF’s success in defending and advancing the retail industry’s victory on swipe fees, and the association’s momentum on leveling the sales tax playing field between local retailers and online sellers.

French’s recognition comes weeks after Association TRENDS magazine named Vice President and Employee Benefits Policy Counsel Neil Trautwein one of its leading association lobbyists.

The trade publication described Trautwein as the “go-to” contact on the Affordable Care Act within the business community, and cited his leadership responsibilities in a number of important health care coalitions and partnerships.
