Bethany Aronhalt is senior director of media relations at the National Retail Federation. In this role, she develops strategic messaging around a range of public policy issues and drives media coverage of the retail industry’s advocacy efforts.
Aronhalt brings years of communications, issue advocacy and digital media experience on Capitol Hill, political campaigns and trade associations. She previously served as press secretary for the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, acting as a spokeswoman for a number of policy issues important to the retail industry. Prior to joining the committee, Aronhalt served as lead digital copywriter and social media manager for Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign, as well as manager of grassroots communications for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s political affairs team during the 2014 election cycle. She was media relations coordinator for NRF from 2013-2014.
In 2016, Aronhalt was named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list for law and policy. Originally from Minnesota, she began her professional career in the Minnesota state legislature after graduating from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and economics.
