One of the most popular parts of NRF’s Retail’s Big Show is the Innovation Lab, which showcases more than 50 of the most groundbreaking technologies in the retail space. One such exhibiting company is Pathr, an AI-powered spatial intelligence platform that uses anonymous location data to derive actionable business insights in real time. To learn more about Pathr and innovation in retail, the Retail Gets Real podcast team talks to George Shaw, Pathr CEO and co-founder, and Sucharita Kodali, an NRF Innovation Advisory Committee member and a retail analyst with Forrester.

Pathr describes itself as a spatial intelligence platform. “What that means is we take location data that already exists. We gather location data from lots of different sources, whatever those sensors might be, and we make better sense of it. We're trying to connect that location data where people are in bricks-and-mortar stores, as well as in other environments, [and] we're trying to connect that to business cases,” Shaw says. “So, we're not trying to give anybody data. We're trying to give people answers.”

Listen to the full episode to learn more about how Pathr works, the state of AI in retail, and one of the biggest challenges that retail will face in the coming months. And to learn more about what happened at NRF 2020, head over to nrfbigshow.com.
