Meet America's Retail Champions 2017
Congratulations to our 2017 America’s Retail Champions for their contribution to advocacy!

Congratulations to Nebraska Retail Federation President Jim Otto, who received the J. Thomas Weyant Award.

This event is an important way for retailers to make a difference!

The Retail Advocates Summit rallies retailers of all sizes — national and local brands — to come to Washington to advocate for issues that are critical to a thriving retail industry.

One of the best ways to reach decision makers is speaking directly with them in person. The Retail Advocates Summit is a platform to do just that. We schedule meetings with your elected officials for you; we educate you on the full spectrum of issues that are most pressing to retailers today. You get to make great connections and make a difference in the future of our industry.

What you can expect at NRF's Retail Advocates Summit 2017.
How to be an effective advocate
  1. Recognize your value. Your opinion matters and your representatives want to hear from you.
  2. Understand the issues. There are so many issues facing retailers so it’s important to be informed.
  3. Use your voice. Share how legislative decisions affect your business.

Anyone can be an advocate

Speaking to your elected officials may sound intimidating. That’s why we spend a full afternoon giving you an overview of what the meetings will be like, providing background on the issues and talking points, and scheduling time for you to meet with other retailers and NRF staff who will be meeting with you during your Hill visits.
