Address the nation’s truck driver shortage

A massive truck driver shortage threatens retailers’ ability to meet customer needs.

The retail industry relies on truck drivers to support our supply chains to meet the needs of our customers and communities. America currently needs to add more than 900,000 truck drivers over the next decade; in 2017 alone, more than 50,000 driving jobs went unfilled due to federal barriers to hiring qualified drivers. The DRIVE-Safe Act makes common-sense reforms that would allow young individuals to enter a lucrative profession and jumpstart their careers while addressing the nation’s truck driver shortage at the same time.
