Global retail leaders to explore future perspectives of retail at NRF 2020 Vision: Retail’s Big Show

WASHINGTON – The National Retail Federation will gather the biggest leaders in retail, technology and business at its 109th annual convention in New York City in January to offer their forward-thinking ideas to 38,000 retailers from nearly 100 countries.

Additional details for sessions and speakers at NRF 2020 Vision: Retail’s Big Show will be announced in the coming weeks. Confirmed headline speakers to date include:

Mastercard President and CEO Ajay Banga. Over the course of his career, Banga has worked across the consumer packaged goods, banking and payments sectors. Today, he helps to deliver a global view of the trends and issues facing businesses of all sizes, through his work with The Cyber Readiness Institute and the International Chamber of Commerce, while leading Mastercard over the past decade.

Sam’s Club President and CEO John Furner. Sam’s Club is a division of Walmart Inc., with revenues of $59 billion for fiscal year 2019, 100,000 associates and almost 600 members-only warehouse clubs. Furner started with Walmart as an hourly associate in 1993, and has held important roles in Walmart U.S., Sam’s Club and Walmart International in China.

Crate and Barrel CEO Neela Montgomery. Montgomery joined Crate and Barrel in August 2017 with 16 years of global retail experience. Having previously led in Malaysia, Germany and the UK, she worked for the Otto Group on the Executive Board for over two years and was responsible for their bricks-and-mortar business as Executive Chairwoman. She spent 12 years at Tesco PLC in strategy and ecommerce –rising to oversee General Merchandise for the UK.

Walmart eCommerce U.S. President and CEO Marc Lore. Lore was appointed in September 2016 to lead U.S. ecommerce when his company Jet.com was acquired by Walmart Inc. In his role, he accelerates Walmart’s U.S. ecommerce growth and customer reach, leading Walmart.com and its family of acquired brands – including Jet.com.

Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives (2015-2019) Paul Ryan. In office from October 2015 to January 2019, Ryan was the youngest speaker in nearly 150 years. During his tenure, he spearheaded efforts to reform the nation’s tax code for the first time in a generation, rebuild national defense, expand domestic energy production, combat the opioid epidemic, reform the criminal justice system, and promote economic opportunity.

Hudson’s Bay Company CEO Helena Foulkes. Foulkes was appointed CEO of HBC in February 2018 and is responsible for the company’s global strategy and operations for all businesses, overseeing approximately 40,000 associates worldwide. Prior to joining HBC, she spent 25 years at CVS Health Corporation. Before joining CVS, she worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Tiffany & Co.
