NRF hires chief banking and financial services lobbyist

WASHINGTON – NRF today announced that it has hired Leon Buck as Vice President of Government Relations, Banking and Financial Services.

“Leon will pick up a broad portfolio of financial services topics and strengthen NRF’s reach among key House and Senate lawmakers on these important issue areas,” NRF Senior Vice President of Government Relations David French said. “His strong government relations background adds to NRF’s already deep pool of advocacy expertise related to payments, data security and privacy. We are excited to have him join the team.”

Buck joins NRF with 25 years of experience in government affairs and most recently was senior policy director/special projects coordinator for U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX). Throughout his career, Buck has served as a lobbyist before the House Financial Services and Senate Banking Committees, and worked on the passage and enactment of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, the National Flood Insurance Reform Authorization, and the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act.
