Mother’s Day

NRF has been conducting its annual Mother’s Day survey since 2003 to see how Americans will celebrate “mom” on her special day each spring.

As more people are getting vaccinated and stimulus checks are being distributed, consumers are going all out for moms this year

  • 83% of consumers plan to celebrate Mother’s Day this year
  • Shoppers plan to spend $220.48 on average, $16 more than they planned to spend last year and the highest in the survey's history
  • Categories like jewelry and electronics are seeing record levels of spending this year
Mother’s Day Spending to Total $28.1 Billion
Approximately 83 percent of U.S. adults are expected to celebrate the annual holiday.
