IT Security Council

The National Retail Federation (NRF) IT Security Council (ITSC) is NRF’s primary membership group for retail sector cybersecurity leaders and technical experts. It provides a forum for its members to exchange information on current cyber threats and industry best practices, and engage with industry, academic and government stakeholders on cybersecurity issues of specific interest to the retail sector.

The IT Security Council convenes in-person twice a year, typically in conjunction with NRF’s major conferences, including at Retail’s Big Show held in New York every January and the security-focused NRF PROTECT conference. These meetings (and related social events) provide a premier opportunity for the exchange of ideas and peer networking among retail sector cyber leaders.

NRF maintains an online forum for IT Security Council members to communicate and exchange ideas on current priorities and challenges. NRF also operates the NRF Cyber Risk Exchange, a retail sector Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO) that disseminates cyber threat information from federal and private sector partners to its members.
