Meghan Cruz

Meghan Cruz is vice president of advocacy and engagement at the National Retail Federation. In this role, she develops and implements effective advocacy campaigns, strategies and tactics in accordance with legislative action plans. Cruz leads NRF’s advocacy initiatives including the Retail Advocates Summit, Fight Retail Crime Day and NRF’s Action Team. She also serves as the staff liaison for the NRF Small Business Retail Council.

Under Cruz’s leadership, NRF has received numerous awards for its advocacy work including APCO's top-performing grassroots trade association recognition in 2024, the ASAE Power of Associations Gold Award, the Campaigns & Elections Reed Award and the Association Trends Best Advocacy Campaign award. Cruz has also been named a Top 20 advocacy professional by the Advocacy Association and FiscalNote.

Her previous roles include managing the board of directors and executive operations at the National Propane Gas Association, working on Capitol Hill with former Representative Bob Gibbs, R-Ohio, and positions at the American Bar Association. She has also worked on successful political campaigns at both state and federal levels.

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Cruz holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Dayton and resides in Alexandria, Va., with her husband and children.
