Mercy Du Beehler is vice president of government relations at the National Retail Federation. In this role, she works on a slate of state policy priorities, including payments, privacy, AI and others.
Beehler was most recently at the Alibaba Group, where she served as head of policy communications. She brings extensive expertise in online retail and technology, advocating before executive offices, legislatures and regulatory agencies at both the state and federal levels in the United States.
Prior to Alibaba, Beehler was a member of the membership team at the National Retail Federation, leading member outreach and initiatives focused on development, engagement and promoting NRF's policy priorities. Before that, she worked for a Paris-based luxury brand, specializing in business operations and expansion in North America. In all her past roles, Beehler has strived to build meaningful relationships with everyone she meets, a core principle that she holds throughout her professional career.
Beehler graduated from Lehigh University with a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications and international relations. She is a New York native and resides in Bethesda with her husband and dog.
