Join the movement to combat retail crime

Fight Retail Crime Day returns on Oct. 24
Sr. Director, Grassroots Advocacy

Organized retail crime has a pervasive negative impact on retailers, employees and customers. That’s why the National Retail Federation is uniting the retail industry for the third annual Fight Retail Crime Day. This collective day of action on Oct. 24 empowers the industry to call on policymakers to act on retail crime-fighting legislation and promote community safety. NRF is urging Congress to pass the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act, a bill that would increase coordination between federal, state and local jurisdictions to fight retail crime.

Here’s how you can be part of the movement on Fight Retail Crime Day.

Thank lawmakers

Directly engaging with lawmakers to emphasize the need to act is a key focus of Fight Retail Crime Day. NRF has named more than 150 bipartisan members of Congress who have sponsored the CORCA as Congressional Retail Crime Fighters. If your elected officials are on this list, take a moment to thank them for their support on social media or in a call to their office.

NRF is hosting store tours with lawmakers throughout October to discuss the impact of retail crime and emphasize the need to pass the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act. So far, six bipartisan lawmakers from five states have participated in store tours with NRF members including American Eagle Outfitters, Dollar Tree, H&M, Macy’s and Total Wine & More.

Together, we can make a difference in the fight against retail crime. Join us on Oct. 24 for Fight Retail Crime Day and be part of the movement to create safer communities and a stronger retail industry.
