WASHINGTON – The following statement may be attributed to National Retail Federation Executive Vice President of Government Relations David French regarding the House passage of the FY2025 budget resolution.

“The House passage of the budget resolution is a critical step toward providing continued tax certainty for American families and businesses. Without congressional action, millions of Americans will face a tax hike next year. Today’s vote shows a commitment to preventing that outcome and continuing pro-growth tax policy.

“The reconciliation process will allow Congress to move forward with a simple majority to protect the lower rates, increased standard deduction and small business incentives that have helped fuel economic growth since 2017.

“NRF urges Congress to move swiftly to ensure a stable and competitive tax code that supports continued economic opportunity.”

Last week, the National Retail Federation sent a key vote letter to congressional leaders in strong support of the Senate Budget Committee’s reconciliation package.
