3 ways consumers made Valentine’s Day 2023 special

Love was in the air and consumers spent big to show it this Valentine’s Day. Total spending was expected to hit $25.9 billion — the second-highest year on record.

Consumers planned to increase Valentine’s Day spending to nearly $26 billion

More than half (52%) of consumers planned to celebrate and spend an average of $192.80. This was up from $175.41 in 2022, and the second-highest figure since NRF and Prosper started tracking Valentine’s Day spending.
